APPLICATION

Cables are suitable for use buried with protection, in conduits or ducts, in trays, or outdoors (when regulations permit); 

for use directly buried, they require robust metal armor. The VEMEX-sheathed version offers advantages that make it ideal for mechanized laying.

CONSTRUCTION

CONDUCTOR

Metal: High-purity electrolytic copper or electrical-grade aluminum wires.

Shape: Consisting of compact round copper or aluminum strands, using a special method that allows for smoother surfaces and smaller strand diameters than standard strands of the same cross-section.

Flexibility: Class 2; according to IRAM NM-280 and IEC 60228. Optionally, the strands can be sealed by adding elements that prevent the longitudinal spread of water and retard the development and spread of “water trees.”

INTERNAL SEMICONDUCTOR

Extruded layer of semiconductor material.

INSULATION

Homogeneous layer of cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE) extruded in simultaneous triple extrusion.

The excellent thermal stability of cross-linked polyethylene enables it to withstand continuous operating temperatures in the conductor of up to 900°C, and to tolerate short-circuit temperatures of 250°C.

Continuous extrusion lines (known as “catenary”) enable the continuous triple extrusion of the inner semiconducting layer, the insulation, and the outer semiconducting layer, allowing for perfect adhesion of the three layers, resulting in highly reliable cables.

METAL SHIELD

Formed by ribbons or a ring of wires and ribbons. In all cases, the material is annealed electrolytic copper.

The electrical resistance of the shield is 3.3 Ω/km; different sizes can optionally be selected depending on the network’s short-circuit current. The shield can also be sealed to prevent longitudinal water propagation.

OUTER SHEATH

Made of PVC, PE, or thermoplastic polyolefin, black (red optional)
